Shane Raidal
BVSc PhD FACVSc

Shane RaidalDr Shane Raidal graduated from The University of Sydney in 1989. He worked at Canley Heights Veterinary Clinic and then undertook his PhD in psittacine beak and feather disease at the University of Sydney based at Camden. After another short stint in practice he relocated to Murdoch University in 1994 as a lecturer and then later as Associate Professor in veterinary pathology. In 2003 Shane achieved his FACVSc in the field of Avian Pathobiology. After 12 years in the wild windy west the opportunity to move back to NSW and be part of the new Veterinary Science course at Charles Sturt University was too great an opportunity to miss so he accepted the position as Director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in 2006. Shane’s interest in comparative pathology and diseases of wildlife is fairly diverse as he is involved in ongoing research projects into parasitic and viral diseases of oysters, fish, birds and snakes.
