Wing Tip Wong
DVM, MVS, MACVSc (Surgery)
Dr Wing Tip Wong obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Agriculture University of Malaysia (UPM) in 1980. He then completed his surgical training at The University of Melbourne in 1982 where he also received his Master of Veterinary Studies. In 1991 he was awarded Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in Small Animal Surgery.
Wing Tip has spent most of his time as a clinician and teacher. He taught at his alma mater and also worked for several years in private practice in Malaysia. He returned to Melbourne in 1988 and worked at the Veterinary Clinic and Hospital, The University of Melbourne. From 1999 he spent 14 months as staff surgeon in private referral practice. Currently he is Consultant Surgeon (orthopaedics and neurosurgery) in the Veterinary Clinic and Hospital as well as Principal Fellow in the Department of Veterinary Science, The University of Melbourne. He also serves as Staff Surgeon for Animal Hospitals of Australia.
Wing Tip has contributed to teaching in the undergraduate program as well as continuing education for practising veterinarians.
