Some Distance Education courses require you to have software downloaded onto your computer. Most of this software is free to download online.
Free Software
Adobe Reader (or you can purchase the full version of Adobe Acrobat) - allows you to read documents in PDF format.
QuickTime Player - view video files
Internet Explorer 6.0 - recommended Internet browser, compatible with WebCT
Licensed Software
Microsoft Office ( includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express, Access) - this software
Email
We
recommend that you have access to an email account. If you do not have your own
Internet connection, you can set up an email account with a free email provider
such as Yahoo or Gmail.
If you need any assistance in doing this, please contact the PGF and we will be
happy to help you. It is very important that you access your email account regularly.
Communication is a vital part of each of the Distance Education Programs.
