Introduction
The aim of the course
is to assist you to develop a thorough understanding of equine dental diseases,
their diagnosis
and treatments. Hopefully it will make equine dentistry more rewarding in terms
of outcome for the patient as well as financially for you. It certainly will be
less physically demanding. The
resource material supplied for each module will consist of notes and journal articles
for information. Case studies will be used as an adjunct to this information as
well as illustrations where necessary. Your
progress will be evaluated for each module. Each module will contain some self-assessment
multiple choice questions as well as case studies to work through. You will also
need to submit an article review or a case report generated from your own practice.
You should watch for suitable cases from within your practice for your assignments.
After completion
of the course, you will have the confidence and knowledge to offer a higher level
of equine dentistry to your clients which, in turn, will benefit the horses in
your care and enhance your practice's reputation. Timetable for Modules
